The New Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon is the Biggest Set Ever

The Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon – Hold me…

It might have been able to do the Kessel Run in less than 12 Parsecs, but I expect it will take you a while longer to assemble this monster. Lego has revealed its largest ever box set, the Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon!

Clocking in with just under 7,500 pieces, this beast smashes the previous record holder, the Taj Mahal, by nearly 50%.

The announcement, via the Mirror, is likely to delight both fans of Lego and Star fans. You might want to check your bank balance before ordering, however, as the price is a tad steep.

Ok, I’m ready… How much is the Lego Millenium Falcon?

At 7,500 pieces, you knew this wasn’t going to be cheap, and it isn’t. However, before I get to the price, there are some factors you must consider here.

Firstly, I’ll say it again, this is 7,500 pieces, that’s a lot of bricks. Secondly, the model itself, when constructed, is circa 90cm by 60cm. In old-money that’s 3′ x 2′. That is huge! Thirdly, it’s the Millenium Falcon… come on!

Ok, so the price, it’s £650.00 – Hopefully, after all that build-up, I haven’t dashed your dreams too harshly with that price tag.

If you want another cool alternative, there is always the Lego Saturn 5 rocket, however, that is a measly 1,956 pieces.

Alternatively, you can always try out Metal Gear Solid in Lego Worlds? That’s certainly a lot less expensive.

The bottom line is that these sets are not created for your beginners or even Padawans. These models are designed to appeal to the hard-core, the insane, the unmarried or soon-to-be-when-the-wife-finds-out divorced.

It should be noted (before someone points it out in the comments) that this isn’t the first Millenium Falcon. It is, however, the most recent edition and compared to the original, which had only circa 400 pieces, this is a much more substantial project.

The Lego Millenium Falcon is due to be released on September 13th. May the force, and your bank manager, be with you.
