Liliputing report that Lenovo’s hotly anticipated IdeaPad Yoga 2 Pro notebook/tablet “thing” is now available to buy. The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 Pro features a choice of new Intel Haswell mobile CPUs, an extremely high resolution 3200 x 1800 13.3 inch display, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. All models feature 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, full Windows 8.1 (Pro) 64 bit, a 4 cell Li-Polymer battery, a 1 year warranty, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and HDMI out. The IdeaPad Yoga 2 Pro notebook weighs 3.5 pounds and is just 0.6 inches thick making it slimmer and lighter than the previous generation. Lenovo says you should expect around 9 hours of battery life from these notebooks largely thanks to the improved power efficiency of Intel’s Haswell CPU and GPU.
The base model features 4GB of RAM and an Intel Core i3 4010U Haswell CPU. There’s also a 128GB SSD and Windows 8.1 64 Bit. This costs $1049 on Lenovo’s website and $1000 from Best Buy. The top of the line model features an Intel Core i7 4500U Haswell CPU, 8GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD and Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit. This model costs $1649 at the Lenovo store. A variety of configurations will be made available that will vary between Lenovo’s store and other retailers but they all start from around $1000.
It certainly isn’t cheap but who was realistically expecting a Haswell powered notebook with a 3200 x 1800 display and full Windows 8.1 to be cheap?
