Featuring something called “the most extreme curve available today,” the brand new Y27f Curved Gaming Monitor by Lenovo represents the company’s first product to support AMD’s FreeSync technology. The monitor incorporates a 27-inch-wide vertically aligned display that offers an immersive gaming experience, while AMD’s FreeSync supports smooth and fluid gameplay without any screen tearing or FPS spikes. Just in case you’re still not familiar with FreeSync, we’ll tell you that it works by improving the communication between the monitor and the graphics card thus allowing the display to dynamically adapt its refresh rate as the GPU pushes out new frames.
Li Jun Su, Executive Director and General Manager of Visuals BU, PC & Smart Device Business Group, Lenovo, has issued the following statement regarding this new monitor:
“Our latest monitor, the Lenovo Y27f Curved Gaming Monitor, is optimized for gaming. AMD FreeSync technology along with a fast 144 Hz refresh rate eliminates screen tearing, and minimizes display stutter, input lag and motion blur to display more natural movement. Combined with full high definition 1920 x 1080 resolution and the most extreme curved display to date, the monitor provides our customers with the smoothest possible gaming and a great experience.”
In turn, senior vice president and chief architect at Radeon Technologies Group, Raja Koduri, stated the following:
“With AMD FreeSync technology, the new Lenovo Y27f provides truly immersive gaming. The monitor is an excellent choice for both casual and competitive gamers that depend on low latency, high framerates, and an ultra-smooth experience powered by AMD FreeSync technology.”
The Y27f Curved Gaming Monitor by Lenovo can be purchased for about $399.
