Lexar Announces New Durable JumpDrive Tough

Ordinary flash drives are quite durable in their nature, but more resilience isn’t a bad thing to have for the active people. Lexar’s newest flash drive is called the JumpDrive Tough and it brings both speed and protection.

The JumpDrive Tough is a high-performance flash drive created to withstand life’s challenges, all while protecting the contents of your drive through an advanced security software. The stylish and lightweight drive is impact/pressure resistant up to 750 PSI, weather resistant in temperatures from -13°F to 300°F (~150 Celcius), and water resistant up to 30 meters. The storage side is protected too with the included EncryptStick Lite software. The software solution offers 256-bit AES encryption that helps to securely protect the stored files.

“Tough conditions have met their match with the Lexar JumpDrive Tough,” said Yeon Kim, product marketing manager, Lexar. “From accident-prone kids to adventure enthusiasts, users can rest assured that their content stays safe and protected even in the most intense conditions. So whether you work or play in harsh conditions, push your devices to the limit, or just want to protect against the bumps and bruises of everyday life, it’s got you covered.”

Performance is great too and the JumpDrive Tough can deliver up to 150MB/s read and 60MB/s write speeds. There are three capacity models available in the new JumpDrive Tough, from 32GB to 128GB. The built-in controller supports USB 3.1, but it is naturally compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 connections too.

The new Lexar JumpDrive Tough is available now at MSRPs of $19.99, $34.99, and $59.99 for the 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB models respectively. All are backed by a three-year limited warranty.
