Lexar NM610 1TB M.2 SSD Review
Bohs Hansen / 4 years ago
After we had a look at the NM700 by Lexar recently, it is time to take a look at the Lexar NM610 with 1TB capacity. It is a more budget-oriented drive which still delivers all the joys of an NVMe drive without breaking the budget. The drive is also available with 250GB and 500GB capacity.
Lexar NM610 NVMe SSD
The Lexar NM610 is a classic M.2 2280 SSD which is compatible with most modern systems, both stationary and portable. That’s a great plus right from the start, but most drives feature this form factor these days. It is built with Intel 64-layer 3D TLC NAND and a Silicon Motion SM2263XT controller.
It is a DRAM-less design which means that it is a little slower than those drives with RAM. While that is true, you shouldn’t hesitate to get this drive for your office system, streaming and media station, or surf computer. They will all love a drive such as this, especially when compared to slower SATA solutions. You’ll notice the increase in performance, I’m sure.
Performance and Endurance
The Lexar NM610 is rated for a sequential performance of up to 2100MB/s when reading and up to 1600MB/s when writing. The random performance is rated at 188K IOPS when reading and 156K IOPS when writing.
As far as endurance goes, the NM610 features a TBW rating of 125TB per 250GB capacity. That brings this 1TB version in at a rating of 500TBW or a 0.46 DWPD rating. It is rated at 1.5 million hours MTBF and it is backed by a 3-year warranty.
