LG Announces The 24UD58-B Ultra HD Monitor

LG has been producing displays as an OEM and using their own brand for a considerable amount of time and continued to embrace new technologies including the 21:9 aspect ratio. Typically, the panels used are of a very high quality with minimal backlight bleeding and low input lag. LG’s latest creation dubbed the 24UD58-B is a 24-inch 4K Ultra HD monitor with an estimated price around the $300 mark. Despite this, it features a marvellous specification with 10-bit colour support active blue light resolution, a 5ms response time and 250 cd/m² maximum brightness.
As expected for an IPS panel, the screen is capable of 178-degree viewing angles and has a good dynamic contrast ratio, although the exact figure hasn’t been disclosed just yet. On another note, the monitor supports FreeSync technology to eliminate screen tearing and stutter. Connectivity-wise, the LG 24UD58-B contains an HDMI 2.0 port and DisplayPort 1.2a. The only aspect which looks a little suspect is the stand which could have the propensity to wobble. Of course, I might be wrong and could only know this for sure by testing the monitor. Overall, it’s a great entry point into 4K for users who enjoy a higher PPI rate or haven’t got the room to store a 27-inch model.
