LG Announces the 32QK500-W 32″ QHD IPS Monitor for $349

Say Hello to the LG 32QK500-W

LG is really pushing the boundaries of bang-for-buck displays. After introducing a 32-inch 10-bit 4K UHD 32UK550-B earlier this year, they are now following it up with the 32QK500-W. While it is still the same 32-inch size, it now has a slightly lower QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution. This monitor uses an 8-bit + FRC IPS panel, which should provide a decent viewing angle and colour range compared to the 32UK550-B’s VA panel.

Best of all, it also supports AMD FreeSync. Which is especially useful since 2560×1440 is a sweet spot for gamers currently in terms of functionality. While 4K UHD is impressive, the ones that have a gaming panel and good balance of colour are simply too expensive. In fact, those monitors can cost upwards of $1000+ USD. So the LG 32QK500-W is a good middle-ground for those who want to game, but does not want to compromise on image quality as well.

What Kind of Connectivity Options are Available on the 32QK500-W?

The LG 32QK500-W has two HDMI ports, one full-size DisplayPort, one mini-DisplayPort and an audio pass through port available in the rear.

How Much is the 32QK500-W Monitor?

According to LG, it has an MSRP of ¥34,800 YEN, so you should find it in stores for around $310~$349 USD.
