The LG Optimus 4X HD weighs in at 141 grams, carrying a hefty 1.5 Ghz NVIDIA Tegra 4 T30 Quad-Core processor and very shortly it will be getting an operating system revamp.
If you’re on the market for an LG Optimus 4X HD, also known as LG P880 and LG P880g, or even if you already own one, then I have some good news for you. LG has announced that their device will be getting updated to the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, a nice upgrade from the current Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
Jelly Bean is Android’s fifth major release, which was released back in November of 2012. If you follow XDA Developers you may have seen the leak for Android 4.1 last month. If not you will be able to upgrade over-the-air, but don’t forget to use your LG update tool.
Unfortunately LG has not given a timeframe for the update, but it shouldn’t take very long. Some have already been reporting that the update is seeding in most European countries.
If you’re having issues getting your phone to update, be sure to check out the official LG blog for details here.
