If you haven’t heard about LG’s new flagship smartphone, sit down, because you’re about to be impressed. LG’s new Optimus G smartphone has reached Seoul today, and with it brings a slew of technological bedroom talk.
Optimus G sports a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC thanks to Qualcomm’s Fusion 3 chipset, which also brings 2G/3G/LTE radio from its MDM9615 chip, a 4.7-inch 1280×720 (320ppi) True HD IPS PLUS display that features the company’s Zerogap Touch (in-cell touch) technology. 2GB of RAM, a 2100mAh battery, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich are also featured.
Finishing up on the details, LG have included a 13-megapixel backside-illuminated sensor with 1.1µm pixels, an f/2.4 autofocus lens and a single LED flash. A front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera is included, 32GB of on-board storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, NFC and MHL.
LG have kept the Optimus G on a diet, too, as it weighs in at just 145g and is only 8.45mm thick. It should reach the rest of the world sometime in the next month or two, depending on where you live. Considering that the iPhone 5 has just been announced by Apple, are LG shooting themselves in the foot by announcing it so close to the biggest smartphone announcement of the year? Or are they confident that their Optimus G will sell well? For now, it has only launched in their home country, South Korea. Let’s hope that PSY has one, hey?
