LG Respond to PS4 Pro Connection Issues With TV Update

It seems not everyone was getting an upgraded experience when they purchased the PlayStation 4 Pro, with many experiencing serious connection issues with a wide range of TVs. Sony’s efforts to fix the issue haven’t exactly been impressive either, deleting threads from their forums and sticking their fingers in their ears.
Things were even worse for owners of the HDR LG series of TVs, in both their OLED and LCD ranges. The issue seemed to be that the TVs were not able to report their capabilities to the consoles and then not outputting the correct 4K and HDR image quality as you would expect. LG quickly jumped in and said they would release a firmware update to fix the problem, and with reports coming in from around the world, it appears that they’ve done just that and things are now working. If you own one, find the update option in the menu to get things back on track.
Other brands are still having issues, amazingly including Sony’s own… what have they been testing their PlayStations on exactly, Samsung sets? No idea how they missed that one.
We still don’t think this is the fault of TV manufacturers, this sounds like a deeper firmware issue with the PS4 Pro and it’s one we hope gets resolved soon. LG fixed their sets, but that’s no guarantee that others can do the same due to their use of different hardware configurations.
