While LG has a healthy stable of home consumer products to go with their appliances, smartphones, and displays, the company plans to introduce several products in 2017 to push further into the home consumer market starting with the new LG PJ9 levitating wireless speaker. Most notable for its wireless floating speaker, the LG PG9 offers much more than aesthetic distraction with its white construction and sleek modern layout. The unit itself is a two-piece design consisting of a turbine-style main speaker that floats above a levitation base that plugs into a wall.
Powerful electromagnets inside the levitation base are responsible with keeping the turbine speakers rotating and floating but also wirelessly charges the device for up to 10-hours of continuous operation. The turbine will descend into the base when the batteries start running low, but will experience no interruption with the playback while doing so. Subwoofers are also housed in the levitation station while 360-degree omnidirecitonal speakers are housed on the turbine speaker for full sound coverage when operational. The PJ9 is IPX7 compliant in order to withstand any adverse weather condition when being used outdoors. For added convenience and versatility, Multipoint technology enables the speaker to connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.
“Our latest addition to our growing lineup of premium wireless audio devices is not only eye-catching but also communicates the message that LG is serious about bringing something different to the table,” said Brian Kwon, president and CEO of LG’s Home Entertainment Company. “We are absolutely dedicated to exploring new concepts and to pioneering innovative designs for its advanced audio products for consumers around the world, and the PJ9 is the latest example of this commitment.”
LG will be present at CES 2017 to showcase the new PJ9 levitating wireless speaker inside the Las Vegas Convention Center (Booth #11100, Central Hall) together with their full lineup of wireless audio products from January 4-7, 2017.
