LG starts using the IPS technology on its monitors for a better image quality

LG has today introduced a new monitor series featuring the in-plane switching technology (or IPS): the IPS 5 is the latest version of the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) Award winning monitor line-ups along the with IPS1 and IPS6 series.

“We’re committed to continually improving all aspects of our monitors with the best technology currently available,” said Havis Kwon, President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company. “The IPS5 series is proof of that commitment, as these monitors deliver superbly accurate images with true color representation with a wide viewing angle for demanding professionals.”

The replacement of the twisted nematic panels (TN) with the new IPS provides a large advantage; an exceptionally realistic image with enhanced colour accuracy. The same accuracy is guaranteed by expert calibrated colours incorporated into the monitor, mkaing LG one of the few companies offering it today.

This same colour reproduction is ensured by the temperature being kept at optimum level, around 6,500 Kelvin, which allows for the best reproduction of the colours, making the resulting image identical to the one that was originally intended.

The colour shift free provided by the alchemic convergence between IPS and LED delivers an highly advanced image quality, as well as extending the viewing angle, now allowing the monitor to be seen from any position in front of the screen while maintaining realistic and vibrant colours.

The dual setup is greatly facilitated, allowing the configurations of different modes in just a click, and allowing the taskbar to be displayed on both monitors as well.

An Energy Saving Technology has also been included, making eco-friendliness another of its qualities.

Not only does it displays colours and images with incredible realistic feel, but the IPS5P series has been designed ergonomically with an height-adjustable stand for the best standing position of the monitor to consent for the most comfortable position of the user.

The IPS5 series is available this month for a price of around €199, while the IPS5p will be released in November this year in Europe.
