The prototype for the Lian Li DK-05 motorized PC chassis first made appearance at CES 2017. It is a bolder and bigger update to the DK-01 desk PC (you can read the review here at eTeknix). Just like the majority of Lian Li’s products, the DK-05 is made mostly of aluminum and is of high-quality construction.
The Lian Li DK-05 measures 1400mm x 689mm~1175mm x 780mm, so it has plenty of room inside. In fact, users can fit up to two XL-ATX motherboard systems inside. The internals are visible through the tempered glass top so users can easily show off the fancy components inside. There is also plenty of room for custom liquid cooler setups.
It supports a maximum VGA card length of 360mm, maximum PSU length of 280mm and maximum CPU cooler height of 160mm. There is also room for up to four 3.5″ drives and two 2.5″ drive mounts.
Aside from the HDMI output, USB 3.0 and USB Type-C in the front IO, the Lian LI DK-05 also has RGB adjustment dials (one for each color). Below this front IO is the height adjustment controls which provides up to four presets and also has an LED read-out indicating the height of the iron legs.
With such premium parts, it certainly does not come cheap. Users can purchase the PC desk chassis for $2,099.99 USD and is available via NewEgg.com in North America. It even comes with a promo code for additional discount which lasts until August 18.
