Lian Li PC-7HX Chassis Review

Lian Li have always had impressive chassis designs and even though I personally have found some of their cases to be a nightmare to work with, this really wasn’t true of the PC-7H x. What we have here is a chassis that still comes with all the fine attention to detail, performance, style and engineering excellence that you normally find in the Lian Li range, with all the simplicity of any standard full tower chassis.

You tend to find that a lot of premium quality chassis’ on the market that are capable of holding a lot of storage, water cooling and a multi GPU system are tailored towards gamers. It’s with that market that you find the cases are usually quite loud in terms of colour choices and chassis layout.

Most of the similar specification chassis in the same price range as the Lian Li feature LED lighting, side panel windows, aggressively styled air vents, strong angles to the design and generally have more in common with your average super car in terms of appearance. While there is nothing wrong with having a chassis like that I can understand that it isn’t to everyone taste to have a chassis that looks like a disco inside.

The Lian Li PC-7H X is the perfect answer to those who want something a little different, something understated and something sleek that has less in common with a sports car and more to do with a stealth bomber. Its unassuming design gives nothing away to what’s inside the chassis and its perfect for those that want a clean-looking build that isn’t going to distract them while they work and play.

It’s also built to an exceptional standard, not a single panel or component squeaks, rattles or feels like its going to break any time soon and the closer you get to the panels the better it looks. That may be because I absolutely love black brushed aluminium finishes on cases, it simply looks stunning. If you want a sleek and stealthy chassis to protect your extremely powerful rig, you may want to consider the PC-7H X.
