Lian Li PC-Q34 Red Mini-ITX Cube Chassis Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The Lian Li PC-Q34 is available from various retailers with prices ranging from £80 to £90 dependant on which colour you choose. This isn’t exactly cheap, but keep in mind the level of build quality and the use of very nicely finished brushed aluminium puts the price up a lot.

Overview

Lian Li have created a beautiful product with the PC-Q34, and it really shows from the moment you take it out of the box, right up until you finish your build, and no doubt all the way until the day that you finish using it, if you ever do. The lightweight aluminium construction looks and feels fantastic throughout and while the price tag does hurt your wallet, you’ll have no regrets once you open the box.

The chassis is quite limiting in its options, as it doesn’t have the best GPU clearance. Of course, there are a good range of mini-ITX gaming cards on the market, so not all is lost, but those wanting to build a system with a big GTX 1080 or something similar will need to invest in a chassis with the ergonomics to do so. If you’re building a small workstation for your office, a compact gaming PC for the living room, or even a stylish looking HTPC, then the PC-Q34 is going to perfectly fit the bill. The colour options available should also mean that you can find one that best suits the room you choose to place it in.

With such a small footprint, the chassis is unlikely to take up much room on your desktop, making it a nice space saver. However, it still supports large ATX PSUs, four hard drives, a good size CPU air cooler, even a 120mm AIO cooler if you needed it. Overall, that’s more than enough for a compact build. I would have liked to see some dust filters, maybe even a single fan pre-installed, but for a low-powered and compact build, the fan isn’t essential.

Pros

  • Class-leading build quality
  • Stylish design
  • Colour options available
  • Lightweight
  • Support for ATX PSUs
  • Removable HDD bay
  • Good clearance for CPU cooler

Cons

  • No filters

Neutral

  • No fan included

“Small, stylish and exceptionally well crafted. The Lian Li PC-Q34 would make a perfect complement to any desktop environment.”
