Lian Li TU150 Mini-ITX Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Lian Li TU150 is available now for around $109.99 in the US and £99.99 in the UK. That’s not cheap, but honestly, for the quality and design that you get in return, I think it’s perfectly fair. It’s certainly not overpriced, you just pay for quality and that’s what you get. Unfortunately, it seems some retailers are slow on stock at the time of writing, so keep an eye out for that landing over the coming days.

Overview

I think it’s fair to say that Lian Li rarely release a bad product. Actually, right now I can’t really think of any. Maybe the PC-90 for having a bit of an awkward installation, but that’s what, seven years ago!? They just keep delivering win after win though, and the TU150 is something that can be truly proud of as a brand.

Compact

Now, this is a small case in the grand scheme of things. However, since it supports larger DTX motherboards, it’s taller than most mini-ITX cases. Plus, it supports enormous GPUs, so it has 3x PCIe slots, and it’s quite long, and a little wider too. Personally, that’s fine with me, as it makes the install easier, component compatibility higher, and it’s still carry friendly.

Innovations

Lian Li has put a lot of thought into this design. The way the PSU mounts is pretty unique. Then there are the stealth panels on the glass to hide the mounting and boring PSU hardware. The top, front and both side panels are all tool-free. I needed a screwdriver to mount my hardware, but the case its self is tool-free really.

The unique space in the top for cable management is really cool tool. Honestly, I hope to see this design brought to many other cases too, it’s a good use of the space.

Then, let’s not forget that slick handle on the top. If I owned this case, and very soon I might, I’d want it because of the handle. Would I use it? Not really, I just like the engineering and the ability that I “could” lift it if needed.

Should I Buy One?

Compact, timelessly stylish, fairly priced, well made, practical… Need I go on? This may very well be the hottest mini-ITX case on the market today.
