Telltale Games have forged their own adventure sub-genre which relies on conversation trees, and a captivating story. This revolutionary formula modernized the old-school point-and-click genre, and provided a more directed experience. Clearly, Telltale’s huge range of successful titles including The Walking Dead inspired Life is Strange, an award-winning narrative-based adventure game.
Without divulging any spoilers, Life is Strange is a masterpiece and one of my favorite adventure games of all time. The game’s setting, voice-acting, character development and rewind mechanic makes for a truly innovative experience. Now that the first season has come to a close, many fans are desperate to hear information regarding a sequel. Recently, Dontnod co-founder Alain Damasio said during an interview with French outlet Alchimy:
“I worked as a script doctor on Life is Strange, developed by the studio Dontnod, and I will participate on Life is Strange 2 later.”
Sadly, Damasio’s words were either lost in translation or misinterpreted. Despite various press outlets confirming Life is Strange Season 2, this isn’t the case, but it’s a distinct possibility. Damasio simply confirmed his involvement if, another season ever started production. The incorrect translation is bound to annoy consumers expecting a sequel to start development soon. Furthermore, the timing seemed a bit suspect as the original game’s final was released not so long ago.
