Conclusion
The Linksys RE6700 AC1200 Amplify Wi-Fi Range Extender is without a doubt the best range extender that I’ve tested till date. The dual-band extender provides up to AC1200 speeds for modern connections and features both beamforming technology and Crossband technology to provide the best possible connection.
The addition of a Gigabit Ethernet port is a bonus that allows you to hook systems that don’t have their own wireless adapter up to your wireless network while it extends the range at the same time. The 3.5mm audio jack allows you to connect the range extender to a speaker set or stereo system for audio streaming directly from your smart devices. Automatic firmware update feature along with an easy setup make it easy enough for anyone to use. All you need to do is pretty much just to plug it in and enter your network’s password – or use the WPS button. Another advantage in the RE6700 is the built-in spot finder technology that helps you to find just the right placement for it.
The RE6700 showed a strong performance that clearly improved my network connectivity. My apartment isn’t very large and as such it didn’t show as big an effect on the 2.4GHz band as it did on the 5GHz. The 2.4GHz band has a better coverage on its own, so there wasn’t much to improve right there.
