Linksys has started to ship their latest router, the MU-MIMO enabled Linksys Max-Stream AC2600 MU-MIMO Gigabit Router (EA8500).
MU-MIMO stands for Multi-User, Multiple-Input, Multiple Output and is a technology that is especially useful when using multiple mobile devices on the same network at once. It helps to ensure uninterrupted Wi-Fi connectivity to all the devices as if they had their own dedicated connection point.
The Linksys EA8500 router uses Qualcomm MU | EFX MU-MIMO technology that can help to provide up to three times faster speeds compared to current Wi-Fi. The 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands together can manage combined transfer speeds up to 2.53Gbps, quite impressive.
The router is built around a 1.4GHz dual-core CPU and comes with four Gigabit Ethernet ports as well as a Gigabit WAN port for those super-fast internet connections. The USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and eSATA ports allow you to connect storage drives directly to your router and create your own personal little cloud without the need for extra hardware.
The four antennas are removable and adjustable to create the best coverage possible while the beamforming technology helps to bring the best signal coverage to all your devices.
The Linksys Max-Stream AC2600 MU-MIMO Gigabit Router (EA8500) is available at leading retail and online retailers now for an MSRP of £229.99. That’s not cheap, but you also get one of the best routers created.
