Liquid-cooled MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk Video Card Takes Flight

Details about MSI’s GTX 1080 Ti Armor and GTX 1080 Ti Aero surfaced three days ago and but now the liquid-cooled MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk and Sea Hawk X video card has finally been revealed. As with MSI’s other GeForce GTX 1080 Ti offerings, the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk will be available in a regular and an OC version but both will be equipped with a Corsair powered integrated AIO system. This cooling system uses a 120mm radiator and comes with a 120mm fan pre-installed. Each video card also comes with an backplate.

The MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk otherwise resembles a blower-style dual-slot video card having a fan near to edge for the VRM cooling while the hotter-running GPU is cooled by the AIO. Each Corsair AIO integrated into the GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk has a micro-fin copper base with a low profile pump on top of it. Since it is an all-in-one cooling system, it comes pre-installed out of the box already and requires zero maintenance (other than the occasional dusting once in a while). These closed-loop coolers are the latest generation AIOs from Asetek and come with a flexible, sleeved tubing so it is easy to move around during installation.

VideoCardz.com has the scoop on the actual specifications of these two models with the MSI GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk running up to 1506/1620 base/boost clocks under OC mode and the MSI GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk X running base/boost clocks of up to 1569/1683 MHz. These two units also have alternate Gaming mode and SIlent mode options. The gaming mode is actually the default mode with the 1080 Ti Sea Hawk X set at 1493/1607 MHz base/boost with a 1480/1582 MHz base/boost in silent mode. The GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk on the other hand defaults to running at 1544/1657 MHz base/boost clocks and downclocks to 1480/1582 MHz under silent mode.
