Liquipel shows off their new nanocoating protection: Liquipel 2.0

Liquipel is a company offering a nanocoating service for mobiles and portable devices to make it “water-safe”. At CES 2013 in Las Vegas Liquipel announced significant advancements in durability, resistance against corrosion and even better water protection compared to its older coating.

Liquipel 2.0 gives liquid protection even when immersed at a depth of 1m for 30 minutes. While the phone was wet, it took sometime for the touch panel to work, but it worked once most of the water was removed from the screen.

As of now, there are 4ft x 4ft Liquipods in shops that want to provide this service, but it will take a while for all the existing partners to get this new service, especially the outlets outside of the U.S.
