Lite-On Makes Cloud Vendors Happy with Its EP1 M.2 PCIe SSDs

As cloud service providers are faced with an ever-increasing demand for speed and storage, it falls on companies such as Lite-On to create high-end hardware that can keep up the pace. The brand’s low latency EP1 Series M.2 PCIe SSDs were designed to support I/O intensive workloads, which makes them an ideal choice for the world’s largest cloud vendors. Furthermore, these devices are extremely compact and sip on power, which means that they can be outfitted directly into the server’s PCIe slot in order to dramatically increase application performance without weighing heavily on the host CPU and memory resources.
When describing this particular line of SSDs, Lite-On’s Technical Product Manager, Jeffrey Chang, stated:
“The M.2 is perfect for where we believe the future of enterprise SSD cloud storage is going. As we look to enable the next generation of the cloud, we are committed to aggressive innovation and development of solutions that provide the highest performance, reliability, and lowest latency among storage solutions.”
Servers equipped with Lite-On’s new SSDs are looking at up to 36% power saving and improved storage density per blade when compared to servers running on conventional 2.5” SATA SSDs. In the world of cloud-based storage, every bit of extra speed and efficiency goes a long way, as the end user ultimately enjoys access to a more reliable product.
Lite-On will be present at the fast-approaching Flash Memory Summit, which is set to take place between August 11 and August 13 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Its M.2 PCIe SSDs are bound to make quite an impression.
