LiteOn is launching a new line of value solid state drives (SSDs) that use SATA 6 Gbps interfaces. The CV6 range come in 2.5-inch and M.2 form factors and combine Marvell 88SS1074 controllers with Toshiba 3D TLC NAND flash memory. Specifically, the controller uses SLC caching – for treating part of the TLC NAND as SLC – and LDPC gen 3 error correction. In addition, the CV6 range comes in 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB capacities for 2.5-inch, and 128 GB and 256 GB for M.2. Finally, the drives all boast up to 520/450 MB/s sequential read/write speeds. However, the 2.5-inch versions feature higher 4K random read performance figures (IOPS).
LiteOn is yet to announce price and availability for the CV6 SSD range. More information as we get it.
