Logitech recently announced their 3rd quarter results for fiscal 2013 which showed that their sales were down from $715 Million in Q3 FY 2012 to $615 Million in Q3 Fiscal 2013, reflecting a 14% loss.
Bracken Darrel, president and chief executive officer of Logitech said that they plan to expand their presence in the tablet accessories category. However, the company plans to discontinue products such as speaker docks and even console gaming accessories and peripherals by the end of 2013, but the company plans to stick with PC platform related products.
He said,”Our goal with PC-platform products is to maximize profitability, while investing selectively in growing categories. We have also identified a number of product categories that no longer fit with our current strategic direction. As a result, we have initiated the process to divest our remote controls and digital video security categories, and we plan to discontinue other non-strategic products, such as speaker docks and console gaming peripherals, by the end of Calendar Year 2013.”
Logitech confirmed via Twitter that they will not exit from PC gaming and still will continue to be their top priority.
