Logitech G105 Gaming Keyboard Review

This being a gaming keyboard there really is only one thing that matters, how well it plays.  I decided to put it through its paces on three games in particular, starting with Modern Warfare 3, since this is the MW3 edition keyboard after all, then onto Battlefield 3 and Blacklight: Retribution.  I setup my profiles to the M-Keys for each game, dimmed the lights, enabled the keyboards game mode and fired up the back light.

While the keyboards performance didn’t really differ between the three titles, it was exceptional through out, the first thing I noticed when using this keyboard is that the keys are pretty quiet, not silent but a lot softer than most keyboards, as such the tactile response from them is a little soft too, combined with the fact that the finish on each key is very slippery, which I rather like as it allows my fingers to hit the keys with less pressure than normal as well as slide around the keyboard more freely, this is of course a matter of personal taste, I know some people prefer heavier keys.

I never had any problem with the keys not responding, no glitches, plus being able to hit up to 5 keys at once really came in handy in some of the more complex moments of Battlefield 3.

The G-Keys I didn’t find my self using too much, they are great, but I found I just didn’t need them, they were however much more useful to control my music while gaming than hitting the FN button to use the media controls that are masked over the F6-F12 keys, so not a complete waste there.

I’ve also been using they keyboard day in day out for all my work, I have to do a lot of typing on a daily basis, plus I’m a complete internet addict, so plenty of Facebook and Skype on top of my work have really put this keyboard through its paces over the last few days, its an absolute pleasure to type on and has left my fingers feeling much happier at the end of the day, which is a relief after 12+ hours a day at the keyboard.

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
