Logitech Unveils Brand New G910 Mechanical Keyboard

Logitech have just unveiled their latest gaming keyboard to the world; the Logitech G910 Orion Spark RGB Mechanical Keyboard, or just G910 for short. Logitech has been working hard on this keyboard for a long time and it’s the culmination of years of experience, research and user feedback. It is said to feature lightning speed responsiveness, improved accuracy and superior RGB illumination in a performance-driven design. It also uses Logitech’s exclusive new Romer-G mechanical switches that are 40% more durable and 25 % faster than other mechanical switches on the market.

“This keyboard is the culmination of years of ongoing development by our engineering team, incorporating feedback from gamers and eSports athletes to develop a next-generation mechanical key,” said Vincent Tucker, director of Logitech gaming. “Our team was charged with developing a keyboard that truly improves the gaming experience, and Orion Spark delivers.”

Orion Spark features the new exclusive Romer-G mechanical switches, which can’t be found on any other keyboard so far. With an actuation point of just 1.5 mm, the new switches register your key presses up to 25 percent faster and they have an improved durability at 70 million keystrokes, up to 40 percent longer than previous mechanical switches on the market. It sounds like this is a keyboard that will last for a long time, even under extreme gaming conditions.

Another awesome new feature compared to the old G19 Gaming keyboard, that by the way wasn’t mechanical, is the new Arx Control Integration. A combination of a docking station and a mobile app that can give you additional information and instant control features.

This is a big step up compared to the old integrated display system, and one that probably will find a lot more developers. Otherwise it works pretty much like the old system. D,evelopers have access to a SDK and can build support for their games and applications to use the phone as an additional monitor. This allows for a theoretical endless stream of options. Out of the box it features the same things as the current keyboards with system and media information.

The new G910 has 9 programmable hot-keys placed to the left and above the F1 to F4 keys. This is another improvement over the old two to three line setup to the left. The new layout not only places the keys more conveniently to reach, you’ll also be hitting the wrong key less times in hectic situations. The buttons can be programmed with macros or single keystrokes and there are 3 profiles available, making it a total of 27 customizable commands at the press of a key.

The G910 is also a full RGB keyboard, meaning that you can assign each key individual colours depending on your active profile. This is a great way to group keys by colour and quickly find the right key to press, such as those that you use often in games as such as WASD, Control and Space. The somewhat oddly shaped hand-rest is another improvement over the old Logitech gaming keyboards, and should make for a more comfortable gaming session. It also has a 113 Key Anti-Ghosting, and that shouldn’t be forgotten.

The Logitech G910 Orion Spark Gaming Keyboard is expected to be available in the U.S., Europe and select countries in the AP beginning in November 2014. With all these new features, this isn’t a cheap keyboard and will retail with a suggested price of $179.99/£159.00.

Thank you Logitech for proving us with this information
