London police have arrested a 19-year-old over Sony hack

A teenager has been arrested near London in connection with the hacking of Sony, London’s Metropolitan Police said this morning.
The 19-year-old is suspected of hacking into systems and trying to mount denial of service attacks against large international businesses and intelligence agencies, including Sony.
Sony’s PlayStation Network first went down on April 20 and Sony declared the attack as a ‘massive data breach’. As we are all aware it took them the best part of a month to restore the network mainly due to numerous repeat incidents. The PlayStation Store itself did not reopen until June 2.
The suspect’s computer and related technology will be examined very thoroughly to try and link the suspect to a hacking group, like LulzSec for instance. Unfortunately it is still early days and this might well take some time.
The hacking group LulzSec, the most likely link, claimed recently to have attacked the CIA website and took credit for hacking into the website of the American broadcaster PBS.
