Mach Xtreme MX-ES 16GB USB3.0 Flash Drive Review

Anvil’s Storage Utilities is a new benchmarking utility that we have started using here at eTeknix, its completely free to download and has the ability to test mainly hard drives and solid state drives, but also any other form of storage medium that you can throw at it. As well as testing the drive in a variety of benchmarking tests, it also has a drive endurance test that consistently reads and writes data to the selected medium to give days, months and potentially even years of use in a shorter period of time to see how the drive copes in the longer term.

In the last of our test suites for this flash drive, Anvil’s Storage Utilities gives us an insight into the IOPS capabilities as well as the drives speed at varying levels. During write testing, we again find a consistent throughput speed obtained of 180.35MB/s with a relatively low IOPS of 45. Read speed on the other hand show a much higher IOPS level of ~4000 with the sequential read speed topping out at just under 156MB/s.
