This week saw the release of the much-anticipated Mafia III on PC and consoles. However, things were not alright in the gaming world, as the developer put a block on reviews until release day, usually a red flag for any gamer. Then we found out why, the game was shipped or mastered with a hard 30FPS lock on console and PC, which in this day and age is far from acceptable.
It seems that Hangar 13 knew this was going to be a problem as they revealed they were working on a patch pretty damn quick, suggesting they had already started work on it before the games release. Now, the time has come and that patch is finally here. For those of you who picked up the game nice and early on PC, you’ll now be able to enjoy an unlocked framerate… about time, right!?
The patch will allow for 30, 60, and unlimited FPS options. The patch also included improvements to the keyboard remapping, and there are more patches on the way soon too.
“We aren’t done with fixes and updates and will continue to listen to our community for ways to improve your experience in New Bordeaux.”
Are you enjoying Mafia III? Will you enjoy it more now that the framerate issues have been patched?
