Action-adventure game Mafia II was developed by 2K Czech and came out in 2010 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows, and even though plenty of gamers asked for a third installment of this awesome game, 2K remained silent for no less than five years. However, it looks like our prayers have finally been answered as a Mafia III teaser has been released. The image states that Mafia III will be revealed worldwide at 8:00 AM ET on August 5, 2015, which means that it won’t be long now before we’ll see evidence of the game’s development.
The date coincides with the Gamescom 2015 event, which is set to take place in Cologne, Germany. Even though there is no information regarding targeted platforms at this point, the game’s website reveals that Hangar 13 will be the developer. 2K released the following statement:
“Mafia III is the next installment in the popular series known for immersing players into a world of organized crime through rich narrative storytelling and a beautifully crafted game world featuring period-accurate cars, music, and fashion.”
The news was also confirmed by 2K United Kingdom via the following Tweet:
