Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers PC Review

It’s not fair to judge this game on its graphics, its not battlefield 3, its not meant to tax your graphics card with an advanced physics engine or anything like that, its essentially a simulation of a card game with some story elements stacked on top.
While it does feature some fantastic looking cutscenes in an almost comic book / graphic novel style, they have no impact on the gameplay, which takes place much as the card game its self would, on a board with a few decks of cards, while features like tool tips, some simple card animations do help with the visual aspect I was a little disapointed by the resolution on the cards.
I run a 1920 x 1080 display, yet when a card was displayed it was illegible until you click it to zoom in and view its specs, this can get tiresome when you have situations that involve lots of cards, both of your own and your opponents to deal with.
Sound is fairly straight forward too, the sound effects and light music certainly add a little to the game and there is even some steady voice over work going on in the cut-scenes and tutorials.
