Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers PC Review

It really did take me a quite a while to wrap my head around, if I’m honest I hated the game for the first two days I reviewed it, but my friends love the game and I wanted to at least learn a little on the subject so I can pretend I know what they’re talking about half the time, so I pressed on and even though I didn’t like the game, I did find myself going back to it time and time again to have another go.
Even though I kept getting defeated, I really enjoyed the challenge that the game presented to me, after a couple of days something finally clicked and I started working my way steadily through the games campaign, even though the game does still admittedly leave me scratching my head in confusion more often than I would like to admit.
But what if you’re already a magic fan? well I went to run this game past my Magic The Gathering loving friends and they approve of it well enough and play it quite often too as it takes away some of the hastles of the actual card setup and of course it means they can play the game when they don’t have a real person to battle against.
While I do think they could have done a little better with the games tutorial and some of the card textures, there really isn’t much to mark this game down for as it does exactly what it says on the tin, it lets you play Magic The Gathering at the comfort of your own desk.
So if you’re looking to either learn Magic The Gathering, want to see what all the fuss is about, enjoy a good mental challenge or your already a fan of the series then I highly recommend you try this game. Even though at first I didn’t like this game, it was won me over thanks to the challenge it offers me, which is why I am awarding it our Gamers Choice Away.
