Have you ever gamed until you’ve dropped? Well one man in China did exactly that as he gamed for three continuous days before his “game-a-thon” was cut short by some extremely serious medical problems. The 26 year old PC gamer, Xiao Qiang, collapsed at a Chinese internet café and was rushed to a Chinese hospital. The emergency doctor diagnosed the gamer with a brain hemorrhage which resulted in him sustaining partial paralysis.
The doctor, Xiong Zhiewei, revealed to the press that the man has the possibility of regaining most normal motor functions but he will likely be plagued for the rest of his life by mental difficulties and impaired speech. While this is clearly an extreme case that is unlikely to be replicated again, it does serve as a very stark reminder that people should act sensibly when gaming.
