The newest update for Manor Lords has brought significant changes to its gameplay dynamics, specifically targeting the game’s archers and villagers’ ale consumption. Players have now received a patch that increases archer effectiveness, addressing previous concerns that the units were underpowered. This adjustment reverses a prior tweak that had made them too weak, ensuring a better balance in combat scenarios.
Additionally, the update takes a humorous yet practical approach by reducing the “overly high ale consumption” among villagers. This change aims to keep the villagers more focused on their tasks rather than their ale mugs, potentially improving overall productivity in the game’s medieval setting.
A major addition in this patch is the implementation of the King’s Tax, or Annual Royal Tax. This new system imposes a yearly tax on all players, which is calculated based on population size. The tax serves as a strategic element to counterbalance wealth accumulation among players who might otherwise exploit the game’s economy without optimizing their resources.
The patch also includes various other fixes, such as the improvement of inefficient sawpits and the resolution of a bug that left people or livestock homeless despite available living space. Additionally, global and local trading adjustments have been introduced, allowing players to better manage trade routes and optimize economic strategies.
The update is currently available for public testing, and players can access the full list of changes in the patch notes on Steam. These enhancements promise to refine gameplay, making “Manor Lords” a more balanced and engaging experience for its community.
