A major announcement may be on the horizon for Xbox gamers. According to Jez Corden from Windows Central, Square Enix might unveil Xbox versions of several Final Fantasy titles at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show (TGS), scheduled for September 26. This could include Final Fantasy 16, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Rebirth, and the Pixel Remaster collection of the series’ first six games.
Corden commented during an episode of the Xbox Two podcast, “I believe the entire series is planned, including Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 16, and the Pixel Remaster collection. However, not all of them will be released at once.” He suggested that Final Fantasy 16 and the Pixel Remaster will be the first titles to launch on Xbox, with the Final Fantasy 7 remakes potentially following later.
“Many people are wondering if Sony’s exclusivity deal for Final Fantasy 7 is permanent,” said Corden. “I’ve heard it isn’t, and the remakes will eventually come to Xbox. I don’t know exactly when, but I expect Final Fantasy 16 to be prioritized.”
Fans are advised to treat this information with caution until official announcements are made during Microsoft’s TGS 2024 event. There, new titles for Xbox Game Pass and PC are also expected to be revealed.
