CAPCOM’s much awaited epic cross-company fighting game sequel Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite finally gets a release date scheduled for September 19, 2017 for the PC as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will come with a single-player story mode, classic arcade mode, training and mission modes as well as various multiplayer offerings to make it the biggest fighting game release of the year. Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite will not just have Ultron, the villain from Avengers 2 as the main bad guy, but he will fuse with Megaman villain Sigma to form…Ultron Sigma. Throw in Marvel’s Infinity Stones which have not made an appearance in the CAPCOM games since the Marvel Super Heroes arcade game 22 years ago back in 1995.
So who is in the roster for Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite? Other than Ultron and Sigma, the Capcom side will get Mega Man X, Ryu, Chun-Li, Chris Redfield, Morrigan and Strider Hiryu. On the Marvel side: Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, Rocket Racoon, Captain America and Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) will be playable. The roster seems light in comparison to previous Marvel Vs. Capcom games so additional characters will most definitely be added later on as DLC.
Pre-orders are currently accepted, with the standard edition available for $59.99 and provides a Warrior Thor and Evil Ryu alternate Premium costume bonuses on top of having the game upon release.
The Deluxe Edition costs $89.99 will receive the same bonuses as the standard edition but with the addition of the Gladiator Hulk costume (from the upcoming Thor: Ragranrok movie) and Mega Man’s Command Mission X costume as well as the 2017 character pass, giving access to six post-launch characters including the character Sigma.
The Collector’s Edition provides the sweetest bonus of all, with four detailed, interlinking dioramas from TriForce featuring Chun-Li, Mega Man X, Captain Marvel and Iron Man as well as LED-lit Infinity Stone replicas. You also get premium packaging and the deluxe edition version of the game with all the previous bonuses.
