Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Patch 3 Released

Another patch has been released for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, making it the third since the game’s problematic launch. If you would like to read more about the launch and the updates, you can do so here. The latest update intends to bring fixes to the game’s stability and the rather severe crashing issues that have plagued the game since its launch.

Patch 3

The update upgrades the NVIDIA Streamline SDK to version 2.7.2 and addresses numerous visual glitches. These include fixes for cinematic issues on ultra-wide monitors, reflection problems, ray-traced shadow errors, and low-quality texture assets. The patch also implements various user interface enhancements, such as ensuring the Suits menu scrolls to the selected suit and resolving issues with ‘Pull’ Quick Time Events when certain keybindings are used.

Beyond visual and UI improvements, Patch 3 tackles gameplay and stability issues. A specific crash during the ‘Graffiti in Trouble’ mission with Spanish text is now fixed. More generally, the update brings various stability improvements and optimizations to enhance the overall playing experience.

Hopefully, after all of these changes, the game might actually be worth playing, or it might just be worth waiting, as the last few updates, although helpful in dampening the situation, still leave me unconvinced that the game is worth its full £49.99 price tag in its current state.
