Marvo Scorpion – Affordable Gaming Just Got Great!

A Closer Look

The keyboard looks pretty great from the moment you take it out of the box. I’ll admit, it looks a little old-school, as does a lot of Marvo stuff. They’re no stranger to using older designs to keep costs down. That being said, I quite like the near retro vibe it gives off. It comes hard-wired with a 2m long USB cable, and it’s all just plug and play ready.

It has a lightly textured design that has a little bit of gloss to it, both on the keycaps and the housing. Plus, there’s just a touch of shine thanks to those lovely trimmed edges.

As for features, it’s pretty standard stuff, with a few basic Windows shortcuts here.

Plus multimedia controls, which are great for skipping through songs while you’re gaming.

Further along you’ll find some volume controls too. Of course, you have to press the Fn-Shift button to use them, but that’s no big deal.

On the arrow keys, some basic adjustments for the built-in lighting. You can adjust brightness, and colour flow direction.

The profile of the keyboard is pretty low, and while the keyboard does have a slight wedge shape, the keys are angled back so they lay pretty flat overall.

On the bottom of the keyboard, there are four large grip pads.

Plus two extra-wide kickstands should you need a little more angle.

As for the headset, well that does look pretty awesome. It’s hard-wired too, with a 2m braided cable

There’s an inline control, with volume controls on the side.

There’s a large button in the front for mute.

Plus an EQ button to cycle through the modes; movie, game, music, etc.

The design of the drivers is pretty fantastic. They look like they’re open back, but it’s a fake perforation to give it a stylish look; it worked.

On the otherside, there’s a deep layer of protective memory foam and some PU leather.

And then you’ll find a friction slider for adjusting the headset size.

The headband is HUGE ultra-wide and nicely and flexible. It’s remarkable just how comfortable it is too, easily one of the more comfortable headset I’ve ever tested, which is high praise indeed.
