Marvo Scorpion – Affordable Gaming Just Got Great!

When powered up, the headset sparks to life, offering up some lovely red LED lighting. It’s pretty subtle and not too bright, and I approve of that.

What does impress me is the sound quality, and I’ll admit I was expecting it to sound like any other affordable headset. A little unrefined, a little rough around the edges, maybe even with a bit too much bass on the EQ. However, I was simply blown away by the sound quality. Studio monitors they are not, but I’ll be damned if they don’t just sound great! A big sound, no distortion, plenty of volume, and the EQ really does offer up some good sound shaping. Personally, I liked the movie preset, it sounded great for gaming, music, and just about anything else I threw at it.

The microphone is pretty decent too, nothing too fancy really just a stock boom microphone. However, it is flexible, it has a pop filter and good sensitivity.

As for the keyboard, it looks pretty great too, and the RGB does all a nice dah of colour to it.

However, keep in mind this isn’t per-key RGB lighting and each key has a fixed colour. It’s more a fakery of a rainbow fade. It’ll blink them and change the brightness etc to give it some flow.

The switches are decent too, giving you a nice click and response, much like you would expect from other brand blue switches. They’re pretty light and fast overall, but keep in mind that as a blue switch keyboard, it is a little louder to type on than most.

For working and gaming, it’s not unlike any other mechanical keyboard, and that’s no bad thing. It looks and feels as a good quality mechanical keyboard should.

One thing I do like is that while you can’t change the colour, there are a bunch of gaming modes that only light up certain keys, such as this MOBA setup here.

Overall, they make a really killer setup. Keep in mind the mouse and mouse mat are actually from last weeks review, but this is all Marvo hardware. Check that review here. But everything matches fairly well visually, and it all feels pretty robust to use too.
