Marvo Scorpion PRO Gaming HG9053 Headset Review

Marvo is quickly becoming one of my favourite brands. Not only have they continued to deliver some of the most affordable products I’ve ever reviewed, but they’ve also been surprisingly decent products despite their insanely low prices. However, in recent weeks, I’ve been playing around with their PRO series hardware. For Marvo, this stuff is high-end and expensive, but they’re still bargain prices relative to other brands. Just check out my Marvo PRO KG934 TKL RGB Mechanical Keyboard Review or the Marvo Scorpion PRO G945 Gaming Mouse Review for example. However, today, it’s all about the new Marvo Scorpion PRO Gaming HG9053 Headset, and at less than £50, it certainly has some appeal to those on a tighter budget that still want a great range of features.

Marvo Scorpion PRO Gaming HG9053 Headset

The headset is certainly well equipped, coming with 7.1 surround sound processing, plus its USB powered, so it has its own built-in soundcard, meaning it’s plug and play ready. It also features a built-in on-cable controller, LED backlighting, a detachable microphone, and soft PU leather ear cups. It promises to pack a decent punch too, with a set of 50mm drivers that operate between 20-20,000 Hz (114 dB +- 3 dB) for the audio, as well as an Omnidirectional microphone (-43 dB +- 2 dB). Nothing bleeding-edge tech-wise, but at this price range, that’s a pretty complete setup.

Features

  • Easy volume and microphone adjustment with in-line control
  • USB powered LED light
  • Large, comfortable ear cups
  • Red LED backlight
  • Detachable microphone arm
  • Full audio immersion in games with 7.1 surround sound
  • Excellent audio quality with powerful bass sounds and clear treble
  • Detachable microphone arm
  • In-line remote control
  • Soft-cushioned synthetic leather ear cups

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
