Excitement for the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda has been building up for quite some time now, with many expecting the space action-RPG epic to be bigger than any of its previous three titles. It is scheduled for launch on March 21 and BioWare has already released the official system requirements in order to play it on the PC. Although its rating is still somewhat up in the air in some regions, everyone is expecting it to get the M for Mature or regional equivalent rating for blood, strong language, strong sexual content and violence.
BioWare’s Vice President Aaryn Flynn has disclosed via his Twitter account however that he is celebrating the fact that the Entertainment Software Ratings Board has bumped it from Mature with partial nudity to Mature with full nudity. He has also mentioned on Twitter that the game is “totally softcore space porn.”
This is not the first time Bioware has touted Mass Effect: Andromeda’s sex-related features, earlier in the year, game producer Mike Gamble has mentioned to PCGamer that the “banging” will be “plentiful and good”.
The game’s rating is yet to be confirmed in Europe but it is expected to get a PEGI 16 rating while Australia with their harsher rating system will most likely get an MA15+.
Mass Effect Andromeda will be introducing a host of new characters different from the first three Mass Effect titles including new main character(s) Sara/Scott Ryder stepping in the role of Sheppard from the original trilogy. New squadmates include humans Cora Harper and Liam Kosta, Asari female Peebee, Turian female Vetra Nyx, male Krogan Dakmor Drack, and male Angaran Jaal. Secondary characters include the Sara/Scott Ryder’s father Alec, Salarian male pilot Kallo Jath, and Asari doctor Lexi T’Perro voiced by Game of Throne’s Natalie Dormer.
