Most of you might have already heard that the vanilla version of Mass Effect: Andromeda was cracked in just 13 days since launch, and while there are plenty of pirates out there that are currently enjoying the game free of charge, they might not be so happy to know that the newest version of Andromeda comes with updated security measures. Apparently, instead of removing Denuvo altogether from Mass Effect: Andromeda, BioWare has decided to implement the latest version of the anti-tamper tech, which means that pirates won’t be able to install the newest patch anytime soon. You know, the one with improved lip-sync and facial animations.
The newest version of Denuvo was spotted in the game’s executable file, which includes a specific set of strings found in all the other Denuvo-protected games. It’s worth noting that these strings were not present in the original version of Andromeda, which means that there’s not much room for error here. Other titles powered by the latest version of Denuvo include Dead Rising 4, Nier: Automata, and 2Dark. We’ll just have to wait and see how effective the new anti-tamper tech really is, as people are undoubtedly working on a way to bypass it as we speak.
