With product refreshes, they can often go two ways. The easy way is to simply bump up the clock speed and performance while keeping everything else the same. This should hopefully allow for lower costs and better value for consumers. The other option is to offering the same fundamentals but a new packaging to attract customers. With the ROG STRIX Radeon RX 580, ASUS appears to have opted for the former.
The ASUS ROG STRIX Radeon RX 580 TOP in this case, appears to be nearly identical to the RX 480 that came before. Compared to its predecessor, it features the same 2x HDMI, 2x DP, 1x DVID display outputs. The design is fully custom with an 8pin PCIe power connector. With a massive triple fan cooler than extends beyond 2.5 slots and the length of the card, cooling should be more than enough.
So far, the key specifications and clock speeds have not been revealed. We also don’t know the pricing as well. Unless AMD missteps again like with the RX300 series, pricing should be lower than the RX 400 series before. In just a few short days, we can expect the launch and all the details will be revealed shortly afterwards.
