Massive Hack At Insomniac Games Leads to Blackmail, Doxxing and Game Leaks

Some news that will probably not come as a shock is that Sony has been hacked again! Well, one of their long-time Sony developers has been hacked at least, and it’s not looking good, not that it ever does.
Insomniac Games Leaks
This time the ransomware attack resulted in a security breach at the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 studio where tons of personal information on the employees like passports and other official documents like that even Spider-Man voice actor Yuri Lowenthal’s information was stolen.
One of the more interesting things that was stolen in the security breach was the concept art of a Wolverine game so something to look forward to when it’s inevitably leaked.
The attack was allegedly done by Rhysida a ransomware operator who was threatening to auction off the stolen data next week. They said “Open your wallets and be ready to buy exclusive data,” and then the group wrote. “We sell only to one hand, no reselling, you will be the only owner!”
Thankfully nothing too bad has come of this as of yet. But Sony are pros at dealing with hacks at this point, albeit not preventing them, and in an email that was sent to a Game Developer, Sony wrote that it was “currently investigating this situation. We have no reason to believe that any other SIE or Sony divisions have been impacted.”
