Massive Online Multiplayer Pirate Game ‘ATLAS’ Delays Launch

Massive Online Multiplayer Pirate Game 'ATLAS' Delays Launch

One Week Delay for ATLAS

Grapeshot Games‘ massive multiplayer online pirate game ATLAS is arriving tomorrow. At least that is what was supposed to happen.

Now the team off-shoot of Studio Wildcard is announcing that they are pushing that launch for one more week. Now leaving the port on December 19th.

Why is the Game Delayed?

While Grapeshot Games did not go into much detail, they did state that they will be using that time to polish the game. One more week gives the team “more time to run through this massive game’s extensive content” according to their Steam blog post.

Considering how many are complaining about bugs with Studio Wildlcard’s ARK: Survival Evolved, the delay makes sense. It serves ATLAS better if there are no major game breaking bugs on its launch week. As the old Carpentry saying goes: ‘Measure Twice, Cut Once’. So this brief delay is worth the minor backlash versus a larger problem overlooked down the road.

Can My System Run ATLAS?

Thankfully, the hardware system requirements are not too demanding. According to Grapeshot Games, users need at least an Intel Core i5-2400 CPU with 4GB of RAM. However, if you have an AMD CPU, you will need at least an FX-8320 or better.

As for the GPU requirement, an NVIDIA GTX 770 2GB or an AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB video card would do.

  • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 770 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or better
  • Storage: 100 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: Requires broadband internet connection for multiplayer
