Masterkeys S
Ready to take your work and gaming to the next level? I know I always am, and one of the best ways to do that is to make sure you have the right tools for the job. The latest keyboard from Cooler Master promises to be one of their highest quality products to date, and that’s something we’re eager to test. The Masterkeys S, the ten-keys-less variant of their new Masterkeys PBT equipped keyboards, is in the eTeknix office today.
Polybutylene Terepthalate?
Come again? Better known as PBT, polybutylene terepthalate plastic is something often loved by mechanical keyboard enthusiasts. However, it’s often a little more brittle than acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastics. Cooler Master’s solution to this is making the key caps 1.5mm thick, rather than the standard 0.8mm. PBT is generally more durable, it doesn’t smooth out after extensive use, and it has a nice “quality” feel and sound to it when typing too.
“Looking for a high-performance keyboard that means business when it comes to heavy PC use? The MasterKeys PBT series is your ideal keyboard, a natural evolution from our incredibly popular QuickFire Rapid and XT keyboards. By choosing substance over style and functionality over flash, the MasterKeys PBT isn’t a fashion statement – it’s a no – BS approach to a superior typing experience.” – Cooler Master
Frustration-Free Performance
“Say goodbye to ragequits due to crappy hardware. The MasterKeys L is equipped with a 32bit ARM Cortex processor for consistent precision and performance. Register keystrokes instantly. Save and execute commands and macros in a snap. Thanks to the MasterKeys On-the-fly system, you’ll win the APMs race every time.” – Cooler Master
Cherry MX Mechanical
Equipped with a choice of popular Cherry MX switches, the Masterkeys S is ticking the right boxes for a high-end keyboard. What really stands out, however, is that it also offers Cherry MX Green, which we don’t see on the market too often.
Packaging and Accessories
The box is nice and compact and shows the switch type, layout and all the usual information.
In the box, you’ll find everything you need to get started. There’s the keyboard, obviously, a very nice quality detachable and braided micro USB to USB cable, and some documentation.
