Matrox Reveals C900 Graphics Card with Nine DisplayPorts

Set to be showcased for the first time during the ISE 2016 event that’s set to take place in Amsterdam between February 9 and February 12, the Matrox C900 represents the company’s latest C-Series multi-monitor graphics cards. What makes the C900 special is the fact that it supports up to nine 1920×1080 displays at 60Hz while using just 75W of power. This single-slot solution can power 3×3 and 9×1 video walls, which is why it can be used in corporate, retail and entertainment environments, not to mention security control rooms. The card is accompanied by a Matrox PowerDesk desktop management software, which is fully compatible with Windows.

The software offers access to a wide selection of tools, including EDID management and bezel management, both of which are crucial in managing and configuring multi-display setups. It’s also worth mentioning that Matrox provides advanced OEMs and APIs to developers, which can use them to create custom applications and interfaces. Business development manager over at Matrox Graphics Inc., Caroline Injoyan, has stated the following about the new C900:

“Three-by-three configurations are the sweet spot for many digital signage installations and control room video walls. Now with C900, for the first time, nine Full HD displays can be driven from a single-slot card and system integrators can easily offer a turnkey solution to power three-by-three video walls. They also benefit from the premium technical assistance, long product life cycles and reliability that Matrox is known for.”

Going into specifics, we can tell you that the Matrox C900 is a PCI Express 3.0 x16 card that features 4GB of memory and includes nine mini-HDMI connectors. It is fully compliant with OpenGL 4.4  and DirectX 12 APIs, and it is compatible with IP encoder & decoder cards as well as Matrox Mura IPX Series 4K capture cards.
