The 12VHPWR connector is a very controversial standard which has literally been a HOT conversation topic since the launch of the 40 series. Whilst many of us would rather stick to the tried and tested 8-pin connectors, NVIDIA has mandated that certain cards in their line, including the SUPER series cards, must include the 16-pin 12VHPWR connector, however whilst most manufacturers have followed this, China’s MaxSun has gone against it.
The MaxSun RTX 4070 SUPER iCraft is quite a eye catching card featuring a glossy purple design as well as a graffiti styled backplate. Considering some of the other cards that come from the Chinese market, the design isn’t too shabby though it would be much better without the graffiti. What does standout about this card is the inclusion of two 8-Pin connectors for power as opposed to the 16-pin 12VHPWR as spotted by @9550pro (Via VideoCardz).
This connector can be clearly seen on the website as well as the spec sheet on the maxsun website so it seems unlikely for it to be an oversight, however the images and details could’ve just been copied from the existing RTX 4070 iCraft card and they simply forgot to change the 8+8 Power from the spec sheet. If that isn’t the case, it would mean that this is the only RTX 4070 SUPER to feature the 8-Pin power begging the question as to how they’ve gotten away with it and why haven’t others also done it?
