Speculation over AMD‘s RX Vega has been widespread as of late. Of course, a hot topic is the codenames of each variant. The current list is, of course, subject to change. However, Videocardz has confirmed that they do in fact exist.
The RX Vega has been AMD’s flagship secret for some time. However, we all know that it’s not so secret anymore. The Vega RX XTX is a codename for Frontier’s GPU.
The Vega XTX is actually a water cooled version of the air cooled XT GPU. Of course, it has a higher TDP naturally but could prove the higher performing card. We will find that for ourselves when the cards are available.
The RX VEGA XT has 4096 Stream Processors, with a TDP of up to 285W and pulling 220W from the wall. The XT has an air cooler. The XTX However, is a liquid AIO cooler with the same 4096 Stream Processors, yet puts up to 375W TDP and a much higher 300W of power. The XL is a lower card with only 3584 Stream Processors, yet still utilised 220W power and has a 285W TDP with an air cooler and is exclusive. They share the same 8gb HBM2 memory. However, the XL hasn’t been confirmed as of yet.
It is still unclear as to whether a 16GB variant is on the cards, and the full specifications are yet to be confirmed. The Radeon RX Vega Series will all be unveiled and announced at SIGGRAPH 2017 Capsaicin on the 30th July and we will update you as it happens. Will you be buying one?
