Metro Awakening Revealed As VR Exclusive Title

The Metro series is a solid contender in my list of favourite games, and that includes all 3 from 2033, Last Light and even Exodus which is vastly different to the first two but still brilliant. A new entry into the franchise has been revealed that is built exclusively for VR.
Metro Awakening
Metro Awakening is a story driven adventure built exclusively for VR and is a prequel to Metro 2033 set in 2028, similar in how Half Life Alyx, another VR exclusive, was a prequel to Half Life 2. The game portrays the story of Serdar, a doctor and rationalist, braving the darkness, crippling radiation and deadly threats of the Metro in search for your wife and the medication she needs. The story is written with Dmitry Glukhovsky alongside Vertigo Games and Deep Silver. It looks to have the graphics and design of Exodus, with the linearity of 2033 & Last Light, which is a good combination for a VR game.
The game will launch in 2024 for PS VR 2 but also on Steam for PC VR. I’m excited to venture into the Metro in VR though I think I’ll need an upgrade over my current Oculus Rift CV1 to really enjoy it, the base stations are a nightmare.
If you haven’t played the Metro series and enjoy linear story driven shooters, definitely give it a go, the entire Metro Saga is currently on Sale on Steam with an 89% discount from £75.56 to £8.06, definitely a good time to buy, especially if you own an RTX card as Metro Exodus Enhanced looks amazing at max settings.
